Volkskunde in Sachsen. Yearbook of the department of Cultural Anthropology

Editors: Ira Spieker und Sönke Friedreich

„Volkskunde in Sachsen“ (ViS), “Cultural Anthropology in Saxony”, is the Yearbook of the department of Cultural Anthropology. The first three volumes, initially designed as a publication series, were edited in 1996 and 1997, still before the establishment of the ISGV, by the research group “Cultural Anthropology”; then, the fourth volume of ViS appeared as a publication of ISGV. Up to volume 15 (2003), several anthropological anthologies, monographs and editions of life-historical sources, were produced. Since its conversion into a yearbook in 2004, “Volkskunde in Sachsen” (“Cultural Anthropology in Saxony”) is published once a year. It contains academic articles, short contributions (in the “Forum”) as well as a section with research reports, thus representing the whole spectrum of anthropological research approaches. In terms of content, the focus is on cultural anthropological research activities concerning Saxony resp. East Germany as well as the neighboring countries.
